The curriculum offered is
based on the British system, modified to meet the international profile of
our students. Similar programmes are taught worldwide at numerous
schools working within the framework of the British system. The
Pre-school ‘Future Kids’ programme is based on the UK’s Foundation Stage
Curriculum and at the Primary level, the curriculum taught incorporates
the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). This offers a broad, balanced
and relevant curriculum delivered through the medium of English with
appropriate modification and emphasis on content, in keeping with the
international composition of the student body. The curriculum covers the
following key subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, History,
Geography, Music, Drama, Information and Communication Technology,
Health and Physical Education, Art and Design and selected Modern Foreign
Languages. RISS will fully satisfy the Ministry of Education’s
requirements for Vietnamese students to follow aspects of the Vietnamese
curriculum. At secondary level, the school again follows the British
framework and students will be prepared for the International
Baccalaureate Diploma Programme during their final two years at the
school.
The school integrates the best practices and values from both western
and eastern educational systems. Students are provided with structured
programmes that encourage ‘brain friendly’, investigative learning.
This ‘hands on’ approach provides students with opportunities to develop
skills and understanding through practical investigations and research.
Concepts, skills, knowledge and positive attitudes to learning are
developed in a meaningful way, preparing the students to become ‘life
long learners’.
